Description

B-HT 920(Talipexole 2Hcl) is a dopamine D2 receptor agonist, α2-adrenoceptor agonist and 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, which displays antiParkinsonian activity.IC50 Value: 25 nM(Adrenergic receptor α-2, rat)Target: Adrenergic Receptor; 5-HT Receptor; Dopamine Receptorin vitro: N/Ain vivo: Intravenous injection of 30 micrograms/kg of B-HT 920 into cats lead initially to an increase in blood pressure and then to a long-lasting decrease in blood pressure and heart rate. Vagally mediated reflex

Talipexole dihydrochloride is an azepine.

Drug Information

Drugs that selectively bind to and activate alpha adrenergic receptors. (See all compounds classified as Adrenergic alpha-Agonists.)|Drugs that bind to and activate dopamine receptors. (See all compounds classified as Dopamine Agonists.)|Mood-stimulating drugs used primarily in the treatment of affective disorders and related conditions. Several MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS are useful as antidepressants apparently as a long-term consequence of their modulation of catecholamine levels. The tricyclic compounds useful as antidepressive agents (ANTIDEPRESSIVE AGENTS, TRICYCLIC) also appear to act through brain catecholamine systems. A third group (ANTIDEPRESSIVE AGENTS, SECOND-GENERATION) is a diverse group of drugs including some that act specifically on serotonergic systems.
