The mixture was stirred at reflux for overnight. After cooling to RT, the mixture was quenched with ice and neutralized with Sat. NaOH at O0C. After extracting with EtOAc, the organic phase was dried over Na2Stheta4 and concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography (Ethyl acetate:Hexane:l:4) to give the desired product. 2-Chloro-4-methyl-6-trifluoromethyl-pyrimidine[00228] Following the procedure in Example 25, using 4-methyl-6-trifluoromethyl-pyrimidin-2-ol as the starting material, the title compound was obtained as a brown oil (37% yield). This compound was not ionized in the LC-MS method. 1H NMR (CDCl3) delta 7.44 (s, IH), 2.68 (s, 3H).
