Description
Copper oxide is a reddish-brown solid with a crystalline structure, often found in nature as the mineral cuprite. It is formed when copper reacts with oxygen and is known for its relatively low solubility in water, but it can dissolve in acids. Copper oxide has a distinctive color and is typically stable at room temperature, though it can undergo further oxidation to copper(II) oxide (CuO) under certain conditions.
