Description

It is milk-white viscous liquid and is non-volatile and odorless. It has a relative density of O.98~1.02. It is miscible with benzene, gasoline and other kinds of chlorinated hydrocarbons, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons; it is not soluble in methanol, ethanol and water, but can be dispersed in water. It is Non-flammable, non-corrosive and is chemically stable. ADI: 0~1.5mg /start (FAO/WHO, 1994).

Uses

It can be used as emulsifiers. China has provided that it can be applied during the fermentation process with the maximum usage amount being 0.2g/kg.It can be used as advanced lubricants, anti-vibration oil, insulating oil, defoamers, release agents, polishes and vacuum diffusion pump oil.It can be used as the paint for prevention of moisture and rust of metal surface. It can also be used as the coating for the surfaces of buildings for prevention of water.It is used as hardening polyurethane foams additive.

(Liquid) Adhesives, lubricants, protective coat- ings, coolants, mold release agents, dielectric fluids, heat transfer, wetting agents and surfac- tants, foam stabilizer for polyurethanes, diffusion pumps, antifoaming agent for liquids, textile fin- ishes, water repellent, weatherproofing concrete, brake fluids, cosmetic items, polishes, foam shields in solar energy collectors, rust preventives. (Resin) Coatings, molding compounds, laminates (with glass cloth), filament winding sealants, room- temperature curing cements, electrical insulation, impregnating electric coils, bonding agent, modifier for alkyd resins, vibration-damping devices. (Elas- tomer, or silicone rubber) Encapsulation of elec- tronic parts; electrical insulation; gaskets; surgical membranes and implants; automobile engine com- ponents; flexible windows for face masks, air locks, etc.; miscellaneous mechanical products.

Silicone oil can be used for applications such as: protective coatings for building materials, a cosmetic additive, a dielectric coolant, a lubricant and antiflatulent agent.

Production

Silicone elastomers are generally prepared from chlorosilanes. The chlorosilanes are hydrolyzed to give hydroxyl compounds that condense to form elastomers. Applications include electrical insulation, gaskets, surgical membranes and implants, and automobile engine components.

Drug Function and Efficacy

This product has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. Its mechanism of action is to reduce the synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting cyclooxygenase, thereby alleviating tissue congestion and swelling caused by prostaglandins and reducing the sensitivity of peripheral nerve pain. It has an antipyretic effect through the hypothalamic temperature regulation center.

Indication	1. When drinking alcohol or taking it with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, it increases gastrointestinal side effects and has the risk of causing ulcers. Long-term use with acetaminophen can increase the toxic side effects on the kidneys. 2. When used with aspirin or other salicylic acid drugs, the efficacy is not enhanced, but the incidence of gastrointestinal adverse reactions and bleeding tendency increases. 3. When used with anticoagulants such as heparin and dicoumarol and platelet aggregation inhibitors, there is an increased risk of bleeding. 4. When used with furosemide, the latter's sodium excretion and antihypertensive effects are weakened. 5. When used with verapamil and nifedipine, the blood concentration of this product increases. 6. This product can increase the blood concentration of digoxin. When used together, pay attention to adjusting the dose of digoxin. 7. This product can enhance the effect of antidiabetic drugs (including oral hypoglycemic drugs). 8. When this product is used with antihypertensive drugs, it can affect the latter's antihypertensive effect. 9. Probenecid can reduce the excretion of this product, increase its blood concentration, and thus increase its toxicity, so it is advisable to reduce the dose of this product when used together. 10. This product can reduce the excretion of methotrexate, increase its blood concentration, and even reach toxic levels, so this product should not be used together with medium or large doses of methotrexate.
