Propionamide Use and Manufacturing
Derived from the reaction of propionic acid and ammonia. Ammonia gas is introduced into the reactor with n-propionic acid. When the temperature rises to about 140°C, all propionic acid will generate ammonium propionate. Stop the ammonia flow, increase the temperature for dehydration, and keep it at 210-220°C for 1-2h. Dehydrated completely. The crystals are cooled, filtered to obtain the crude product, and then recrystallized with ethanol to obtain the finished product.
