Drug Information

2-amino-5-chloro-4-methylbenzenesulfonic acid

C Amine Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Nitrate 3-chloro-4-toluenesulfonic acid with nitric acid at a temperature below 30°C, and then salt it out with saturated brine at 100°C after reacting for 3 hours to obtain 2-nitro-5-chloro-p-toluenesulfonic acid: Add 5-chloro-p-toluenesulfonic acid to water, add acetic acid and iron powder, and reduce it under boiling conditions. The reaction was filtered to remove iron powder, and hydrochloric acid was added to make the filtrate acidic to crystallize 2-amino-5-chloro-p-toluenesulfonic acid.

Uses

Dyestuff intermediates, used in the production of Dahongdian C Lisol Dahong 2G, etc.
