Description
Tan paste Polysorbate 60 has a faint, characteristic odor and a warm, somewhat bitter taste. It is a mixture of stearate and palmitate partial esters of sorbitol and sorbitol anhydrides condensed with approximately 20 mole of ethylene oxide (C2H4O) for each mole of sorbitol and its mono- and dianhydrides.

Polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate Use and Manufacturing
Put 1 mol disc 60 into the reaction kettle, heat and melt, then stir, and add a catalyst amount of sodium hydroxide solution. After vacuum dehydration and dehydration, the air in the kettle was replaced with nitrogen after dehydration. The temperature was raised to 140°C and 4 mol of ethylene oxide was introduced to carry out the condensation reaction. The condensation temperature was maintained at 160-180°C. After passing ethylene oxide to the proportion, it is cooled, the discharge liquid is poured into the neutralization kettle, and neutralized with glacial acetic acid to about acid value 2, and then decolorized with hydrogen peroxide, dehydrated, and the discharge package is the finished product.
Glycosperse(R) S-20 KFG is used as an emulsifier. Suggested applications: cakes, shortenings, milk substitute, chocolate flavored syrup. Product Data Sheet
Drug Function and Efficacy
This product is a broad-spectrum antifungal drug. Its mechanism is to selectively inhibit squalene epoxidase, which is necessary for the synthesis of ergosterol.
