Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine Use and Manufacturing

Sulfuric acid (50percent v/v in water) (200 mL, 410.1 mmol) was added to ethyl pyrazolo[1, 5-a]pyridine-3-carboxylate (78 g, 410.1 mmol) and the reaction was heated to reflux for 2 h 15 min. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature and NaOH 50percent w/w solution (350 mL) was added dropwise over 60 min while maintaining the temperature below 35 °C using an ice bath. This was then poured into water (1 L), further NaOH (50percent w/w solution) (.similar.75 mL) was added until the mixture was basic and the resultant suspension was stirred until everything dissolved. This was extracted with MTBE (3.x.250 mL), the combined organic extracts were washed with water (500 mL) and saturated brine (500 mL). The organic layer was dried (NaBis(di-tert-butyl(4-dimethylaminophenyl)phosphine)dichloropalladium(II) (Pd(Amphos)Cl
