Dibenzyl Use and Manufacturing
It is derived from the effect of benzyl chloride and sodium metal. Benzyl chloride reacts with metallic sodium at 160-180°C for 4 hours to obtain bibenzyl. The other method is obtained by reacting benzyl chloride in the presence of copper, or by hydrogenating benzoin in the presence of nickel.
Used as an impregnating agent for power containers, as a dye solvent for carbonless carbon paper, and as a plasticizer and high-temperature heating medium
