cis-3-Octen-1-ol Use and Manufacturing
It is made from acetylene and α-bromobutane in the presence of sodium ammonia to produce α-hexyne, and then reacts with ethylene oxide to generate 3-octyne-1-ol, which is then formed by catalytic hydrogenation.
GB 2760-1996 stipulates the allowable food flavors. Mainly used to prepare flavors such as mushrooms.
