Cephalosporin C Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Produced by fermentation.

Uses

Active against Staphylococcus aureus, typhoid bacillus, Escherichia coli. However, due to the low antibacterial activity, it has not been widely used clinically. However, high-efficiency derivatives can be obtained through modification, and it is currently mainly used as an intermediate for the preparation of 7-aminocephalosporanic acid (7-ACA).
