2,6-Di-tert-butylnaphthalene Use and Manufacturing
It is derived from the condensation of naphthalene and chloro-tert-butane. During the reaction, needle-like crystals of 2, 7-di-tert-butylnaphthalene [10275-58-8] were also formed.
Can be used as pharmaceutical intermediates. The two isomers do not need to be separated, sulfonated with chlorosulfonic acid, and then neutralized with sodium carbonate to obtain sodium 3,6-di-tert-butyl naphthalenesulfonate [14992-59-7] and 3,7-di-tert Sodium butylnaphthalene sulfonate, that is, non-narcotic potent antitussive drug Kening.
