Pigment Red 194 Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Method 1: Treat and reduce Vat Red GG (Vat Red 14) with ethanol and potassium hydroxide, filter, distill the ethanol, and acidify. Method 2: Fractional crystallization from organic solvents to reduce the hydrochloride, sulfonate or hydrobromic acid salt of Scarlet GG. Or treat the resulting salt with a strong organic acid. Method 3: Use aluminum chloride or zinc chloride to reduce scarlet GG, with or without solvent. The product is then fractionally crystallized. For operation examples, please refer to C.I.Vat Orange GR (C.I.Vat Orange 7).

Uses

Reduced Date Red 2R is suitable for printing and dyeing cotton cloth, and also used as an organic pigment.
