In mid-November, the Chinese methyl methacrylate (MMA) moved marginally. Taking the MMA market in East China as the example, mainstream dealing prices were in the range of RMB 21,500-21,800/mt. Less and less goods were heard to be traded at low prices. Though the prices remained stable, the influencing factors were mixed. Market players held different attitudes to the market. But on the whole, the Chinese MMA market will remain firm in H2 November.
First, the newly-added units in Shandong may be put into operation in H2 November. But there will be no goods available in the market.

The total capacity of newly-added MMA units was 150kt/a. It was heard that units will be put into operation in H2 November. It will take a while for the new products to enter the market.
Then, the overall operating rate in the Chinese MMA industry is normal currently.

Most shut MMA units restarted in November. The overall operating rate has recovered to 70%-80%.
Finally, the units in Asia were shut frequently in November. Hence, the import volume of MMA didn’t increase.

The downstream demand for MMA will continue to be modest. It is predicted that the Chinese MMA market will continue to move marginally in H2, November.
