1-Bromododecane Use and Manufacturing
1. The hydrobromic acid method is derived from the action of lauryl alcohol (n-dodecanol) and hydrobromic acid. Add lauryl alcohol into the enamel glass reaction pot, stir to cool, and slowly add sulfuric acid. Stir for 1h, then add hydrobromic acid. The temperature was gradually increased to 90-95°C, and the reaction was stirred for 8 hours. After the reaction is completed, the temperature is lowered to 30°C and left to stand for 8 hours. Separate the acid layer, adjust the pH of the oil layer to 8 with dilute lye, remove the lye, and wash with 50% ethanol. Vacuum distillation, collect 140-200 ℃ (3.33kPa) fractions to obtain refined 1-bromododecane. 2. Sodium bromide method 3. Bromination method
Mainly used in organic synthesis, in medicine for the synthesis of disinfectants such as Trigermin, Domifene, etc.; as a solvent, it can also be used to synthesize flame retardant tri(dodecyl mercaptan) antimony, antioxidant dodecyl Mercaptans, surfactants dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride (Zermin), benzalkonium bromide, and other flame retardants and surfactants.
