2, 5-diamino-4, 6-dichloropyrimidine (1 equivalent) was suspended in NH4OH (18 mL/mmol), heated in a sealed tube to 135 °C for 24 h, concentrated in vacuo then purified by chromatography on silica gel (eluent dichloromethane / methanol / NH4OH) to afford pure compound 69 (93percent).
