Description
C.I. Sulphur Black 1 is a green-black and blue-black uniform powder, insoluble in water and ethanol, it has good solubility in sodium sulfide solution, is greenish-black, in the alkaline insurance powder solution of the stain is yellow olive, after oxidation can restore the original color, in sodium hypochlorite solution all faded, adding concentrated sulfuric acid has no effect. Soluble in hot concentrated sulfuric acid is greenish-blue, and forms black precipitate after dilution. C.I. Sulphur Black 1 has a molecular weight of 184.11, a density of 1.87 g/cm ³, and a flash point of 353.1 degrees Celsius. Using 2, 4-dinitrochlorobenzene as raw material, 2, 4-dinitrophenol sodium salt is hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions, and then vulcanized with sodium polysulfide solution, oxidized, filtered, and dried to produce C.I. Sulphur Black 1. C.I. Sulphur Black 1 is a highly consumed sulphur dye used for dyeing cotton, vinylon/cotton blends, hemp, and viscose fibers. Compared with direct dyes and reactive dyes, vulcanized black has better dyeing rate and evenness, good blackness and good washing fastness. It is suitable for immersion dyeing, curling and pad dyeing, and can also be used for dyeing leather and raw viscous fibers.

C.I. Sulphur Black 1 Use and Manufacturing
Sulfur black BN is a commonly used dye for black dyeing of cotton, linen, viscose fibers and their fabrics. Both the dye uptake and levelness are good. It can also be dyed with Vulcanized Black CLG to get jet black. It can also be used for dyeing vinylon. It is used for the dyeing of cotton and uv/cotton blended fabrics, as well as for the dyeing of hemp and viscose fibers.
