Zirconium carbonate oxide (Zr3(CO3)O5), hydrate (1:1) Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The conversion method uses zircon, soda ash, hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid as raw materials to prepare basic zirconium carbonate: first, the zircon concentrate powder and sodium carbonate are mixed in proportion, and put into a roaster, roasted at 1100 ~ 1200 ℃, roasted The clinker is washed with 60% warm water to remove excess alkali. After filtration, the filter cake is dissolved with concentrated hydrochloric acid and then filtered to obtain a zirconium oxychloride solution. Sulfuric acid is added to the solution. After the first step conversion, basic zirconium sulfate is obtained. Then, perform the second conversion with soda ash to obtain basic zirconium carbonate, which is then filtered and dried to obtain the product. Due to the different methods and conditions for preparing basic zirconium carbonate, the molar ratio of zirconia and carbon dioxide (ZrO2/CO2) can vary from 4:1 to 1:1. its

Uses

Zirconium carbonate (3ZrO2'CO2'H2O), when used as an additive to lotion, is an effective treatment for skin exposed to poison ivy. Preparation of zirconium oxide.
