Drug Function and Efficacy

Competitive muscarinic receptor antagonists inhibit overactivity of the detrusor muscle by blocking the muscarinic M3 receptors of bladder smooth muscle, thereby relieving the symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency and frequency of urination associated with overactive bladder.
