EU: Dimethicone is safe as a food additive
Recently, according to the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), the EU Food Additives and Flavors Group (FAF) has reassessed the safety of Dimethyl polysiloxane (E 900) as a food additive.
After evaluation, the expert group believes that dimethyl polysiloxane as a food additive does not have safety problems under the prescribed use and use level.
