Global 50 chemical enterprises third quarter results released!

Recently, BASF, Dow, Wanhua and other large chemical companies released their performance reports for the third quarter of this year. The report shows that the sales performance of these enterprises still generally achieved growth, but due to the global economic recession, high energy raw material costs and other factors, some of the enterprises suffered a profit impact.

 

Asia

 

Rongsheng Petrochemical: the third quarter of operating revenue 77.491 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 72.43%; Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 83,999,900 yuan, a decrease of 97.64% year-on-year. In the first three quarters, the operating revenue reached 225.118 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 74.03%; The net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 5.451 billion yuan, which decreased by 46.15% year-on-year.

 

Hengli Petrochemical: Operating revenue of 51.202 billion yuan in the third quarter, up 9.14% year on year; In the first three quarters, the total operating revenue was 170.357 billion yuan, up 12.46% year-on-year. In the first three quarters, the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 6.087 billion yuan, down 52.12% year on year, of which the third quarter single quarterly net profit loss was 1.939 billion yuan.

 

Chemchina: third-quarter revenue of 45.255 billion yuan, up 32.8% year on year; Net profit returned to the mother was 1.071 billion yuan, up 10.9% year on year. The revenue in the first three quarters was 1200.53 billion yuan, up 33.4% year on year; Net profit returned to the mother was 3.72 billion yuan, up 28.4% year on year.

 

Hengyi Petrochemical: Revenue in the third quarter was 43.512 billion yuan, up 20.77% year on year; Net profit returned to the mother was -496 million yuan, a decrease of 159.91% year-on-year. In the first three quarters, the operating revenue was 123.316 billion yuan, up 26.93% year on year, and the net profit was 1.317 billion yuan, down 56.7% year on year.

 

Wanhua Chemical: The operating revenue in the third quarter was 41.302 billion yuan, up 4.14% year on year; Net profit was 3.225 billion yuan, down 46.35 percent year-on-year. In the first three quarters of this year, the operating revenue reached 130,420 million yuan, an increase of 21.53% year-on-year; Net profit was 13.608 billion yuan, down 30.36 percent year-on-year.

 

Sinochem International posted revenue of 21.5 billion yuan in the third quarter, up 10.56% year on year; Net profit was 315 million yuan, up 21 percent year-on-year. In the first three quarters, the company achieved a revenue of 65.939 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 12.83%; Net profit was 1.29 billion yuan, down 46.36 percent year-on-year.

 

Yunnan Yuntianhua: The operating revenue of the third quarter was 19.836 billion yuan, up 18.77% year on year; The net profit of the mother was 1.665 billion yuan, up 31.24% year-on-year. In the first three quarters, the company achieved operating revenue of 56.459 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 18.53%; Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was RMB 5.133 billion, up 80.63% year-on-year.

 

Oriental Shenghong: Revenue in the third quarter was 16.466 billion yuan, up 17.14% year on year; Net profit loss of 58.7978 million yuan. Revenue in the first three quarters was 46.708 billion yuan, up 16.17% year on year; Net profit attributable to the parent was 1.577 billion yuan, down 59.99 percent year-on-year.

 

Tongkun Shares: the operating revenue of the third quarter was 17.337 billion yuan, down 14.01% year on year; Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was -366 million yuan. In the first three quarters, the operating revenue was 47.189 billion yuan, down by 6.27% year-on-year; Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 1.935 billion yuan, down 68.59 percent year-on-year.

 

New Fengming: Operating revenue in the third quarter was 14.228 billion yuan, up 10.4% year on year, with a net loss of 110 million yuan. Revenue in the first three quarters was approximately 37.943 billion yuan, an increase of 3.76% over the same period of last year; Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was approximately RMB 284 million, down 85.32% year-on-year.

 

Zhongtai Chemical: The operating revenue of the third quarter was 11.784 billion yuan, up 2.26% year on year; Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 9,427,800 yuan, down 98.71% year-on-year. In the first three quarters, the total operating revenue was 41.132 billion yuan, down 2.6% year-on-year; Net profit returned to the mother was 1.155 billion yuan, down 53.1% year-on-year.

 

South Korea's LG Chem: third-quarter net profit rose 5.0% year-on-year to 714 billion won; Operating profit rose 6.4 per cent year on year to Won901bn; Sales rose 34.0 percent year on year to 14.1 trillion won ($10.3 billion).

 

Lotte Chemical of South Korea: third-quarter sales rose 27.9 per cent year on year to Won5.68tn; EBITDA was 180 billion won, up 3.2 percent year-on-year.

 

Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings: Net sales of 2,269.8 billion yen for the April-September fiscal year ended Sept. 30, up 20.4 percent from a year earlier; Net profit attributable to the owner of the parent company fell 13.2 per cent to Y739.6bn.

 

Sumitomo Chemical: Net profit fell 8.7 per cent to Y81bn ($545.7m) in the April-September fiscal year to September 30 from a year earlier; Sales rose 15 per cent to Y1.5tn; Operating profit fell 58 per cent year-on-year to Y60.5bn.

 

Asahi Asahi: Net sales for the April-September fiscal year ended Sept. 30 were 13,512 trillion yen ($9.3 billion), up 14.4% from a year earlier. Net profit attributable to the owner of the parent company was Y51.7bn, down 43.3 per cent from a year earlier.

 

Mitsui Chemical: Net sales of 951.1 billion yen in the April-September fiscal year ended Sept. 30, up 27.9 percent from a year earlier; Net profit attributable to the owner of the parent company was Y77.6bn, down 17.7 per cent from a year earlier.

 

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) : third-quarter sales of 46.87 billion riyals ($12.5 billion), up 7.3% year-on-year; Net profit was R $1.84 billion, down 67.1 percent from a year earlier.

 

Europe

 

Basf: Third-quarter sales were 21.9 billion euros, up 12 percent from a year earlier. Earnings before interest and tax, excluding special items, were €1.3 billion, down €517 million from the third quarter of 2021.

 

Leander Basil Industries: Fiscal third quarter net income of $572 million, down 67.5% from a year ago; Revenue was $12.25 billion, down 3.54% from a year earlier. Net income for the first three quarters was $3.536 billion, down 27.7% year on year; Revenue was $40.245 billion, up 20.7% from a year earlier.

 

Bayer AG: Third-quarter sales rose 5.7 percent to 11.281 billion euros. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, excluding special items, rose 17.3 percent to 2.451 billion euros.

 

Linde: Third-quarter sales of $8.8 billion, up 15% from a year earlier; Earnings from continuing operations were $1.27 billion, up 30% from the previous year.

 

Air Liquide Group: Operating revenue for the third quarter was EUR8.247 billion, up 8.3% from a year earlier.

 

Syngenta Group: Operating revenue for the first nine months of the year was $25.9 billion, up $4.9 billion or 24% from the same period last year; EBITDA was $4.6 billion, up 30% from a year earlier. Third quarter operating revenue increased to $7.9 billion, up 20% from the same period last year; EBITDA reached $1 billion in the third quarter, up 24 percent from a year earlier.

 

Yara International: third-quarter sales of $6.222 billion, compared with $4.486 billion a year ago. EBITDA, excluding special items, was $1.001 billion, compared to $765 million in the same period last year; Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company was $400 million.

 

Henkel Group: Organic sales rose 11.3 percent to approximately 6 billion euros in the third quarter. Sales in the first nine months rose 12.5 per cent in nominal terms to €16.8bn.

 

Evonik: Third-quarter sales rose 26% from a year earlier to 4.88 billion euros. Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell 5 per cent to €615m.

 

Coxtron: Third-quarter sales rose 7.3 percent year-on-year to 4.6 billion euros, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell 65.0 percent to 302 million euros.

 

Solvay: third-quarter net sales of 3.609 billion euros, up 29.5% year on year; Underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) reached €917m, up 39.8 per cent from a year earlier. Net sales for the first three quarters were EUR10.141 billion, an increase of 37% compared to the same period last year; EBITD was €1.784 billion, up 39.7% from a year earlier.

 

Akzonobel: Q3 sales of €2.862 billion, up 19% from a year earlier; Net income attributable to shareholders was EUR 84 million, a decrease of 95.24% compared to the same period last year. Sales in the first three quarters were EUR8.240 billion, up 15% from the same period last year. Net profit was €344 million, down 86.63 percent year-on-year.

 

Arkema: third-quarter sales rose 23.9 per cent year on year to €2.97bn; EBITDA increased slightly to €4.95.

 

Lanxess: third-quarter sales rose 38.2% to 2.185 billion euros; EBITDA before non-recurring profit and loss items reached EUR 240 million, up 4.8% from the previous year.

 

Wacker Group: Group sales in the third quarter reached 2.13 billion euros, up 29% from a year earlier; Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were 457 million euros, up 2 percent from a year earlier.

 

Clariant: Third-quarter sales were 1.312 billion Swiss francs, up 27% from a year earlier; EBITDA increased to CHF 220 million with a corresponding margin of 16.8%.

 

North America

 

Dow: Third-quarter net sales of $14.1 billion, down 5% from a year ago; GAAP net income was $760 million; Operating earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) were $1.2 billion, compared with $2.9 billion in the same period last year.

 

Nutrien: Q3 revenue up 35.9% year-over-year to $8.19 billion; Adjusted net income was $1.58 billion, up 118 percent from a year earlier.

 

Shandwick: third-quarter net sales of approximately $6.05 billion, up 17.5%; Net profit reached $685 million, up 36.45 percent. In the first three quarters, the operating revenue was $16.918 billion, an increase of 11.43% year on year; Net profit was $1.634 billion, up 4.49 percent year-on-year.

 

Legg Mason: Third-quarter revenue of $5.349 billion, up 56% from a year ago; Net income was $842 million, compared with $372 million a year earlier.

 

PPG Industries: Fiscal third quarter revenue of $4.468 billion, up about 2% from a year ago; Net income was $329 million, down 4% from a year ago; Adjusted net income was $393 million, down 3 percent from a year earlier. Net sales for the first three quarters were $13.467 billion, up 6.35% year on year; Net profit was $788 million, down 46.32 percent year on year.

 

Westlake Group: Third quarter net sales of $4 billion, net income of $401 million, EBITDA of $804 million.

 

Ecolab Group: third-quarter sales of $3.7 billion, up 10% from last year; Net income attributable to Ecolab was $347 million, up 7 percent from a year earlier.

 

Dupont: Fiscal Q3 revenue was $3.317 billion, down 22.34% from a year ago. EBITDA was $856 million, up 5% year-over-year.

 

Codiwal: Third-quarter revenue was $2.78 billion, up 17% from a year earlier. Revenue for the first three quarters totaled $13.63 billion, up 12 percent from a year earlier.

 

Eastman: Sales for the third quarter were $2.709 billion, excluding the divestiture of the rubber additives and adhesives resin product line and the impact of foreign currency exchange rates, up 13% from the prior year. EBIT was $324 million; Adjusted EBIT was $333 million.

 

Celanese: Third-quarter net sales of $2.3 billion, down 7% sequentially; Adjusted EBITDA of $510 million.

 

CF Industries: Third quarter net sales of $2.321 billion versus $1.362 billion a year ago, an increase of 70.6%; Net income was $438 million, compared with a net loss of $185 million a year earlier.

 

Albemarle: third-quarter net sales of $2.1 billion, up 152%; Net income was $897.2 million, compared to a net loss of $392.8 million for the same period last year; Adjusted EBITDA was $1.2 billion, up 447%.

 

Huntsman: Third quarter revenue of $2.011 billion, net income of $115 million, adjusted net income of $141 million, adjusted EBITDA(earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of $271 million.

 

Comus: Third quarter net sales of $1.8 billion, up 6% from a year ago; Adjusted EBITDA was $363 million, down 2% year-over-year.

 

FMC: Third quarter revenue of $1.38 billion, up 15% from the third quarter of 2021 and 19% organic growth; Adjusted EBITDA was $261 million, down 11% from the third quarter of 2021.
