Total investment of 33.9 billion yuan!Jilin Petrochemical transformation and upgrading project 1.2 million tons ofethylene plant started

The 1.2 million tons/year ethylene plant isthe most critical plant of Jilin Petrochemical Refining and ChemicalTransformation and Upgrading Project (referred to as "Jilin PetrochemicalTransformation and Upgrading Project"), with an investment of 3.729billion RMB, which can produce 1.2 million tons of polymerized ethylene and587,000 tons of polymerized propylene per year, as well as hydrogen and mixedcarbon tetra and other products by-products. The ethylene plant covers an areaof 118,600 square meters and adopts the ethylene technology of SinopecEngineering & Construction Co. After it is completed and put intooperation, the total ethylene capacity of Jilin Petrochemical will reach 1.9million tons/year, and the ethylene capacity and chemical scale will reach theadvanced level in China.

Contains acrylonitrile, MMA, etc.! Jihuatransformation and upgrading project started

It is reported that the transformation andupgrading project of Jilin Petrochemical has a total investment of 33.9 billionyuan and will build 21 sets of refining and chemical plants including 1.2million tons/year ethylene and 600,000 tons/year ABS, which is the firstlarge-scale petrochemical project approved by the state since the "14thFive-Year Plan". These projects are located in the East, Central and Westregions, and were fully launched on February 8 this year.

On September 25, the first batch ofapproved basic design projects in the western region of the JihuaTransformation and Upgrading Project started construction, marking that theJihua Transformation and Upgrading Project officially entered the constructionstage.

The western area of Jihua Transformationand Upgrading Project covers a total area of 479,000 square meters and iscentrally arranged with key chemical plants such as acrylonitrile, styrene,ABS, etc. It also has to renovate 300,000 tons/year synthetic ammonia and250,000 tons/year MMA plant. At present, the acrylonitrile and MMA plants areready for full-scale construction. The acrylonitrile plant is also the firstproject to start construction among 21 new plants in the transformation andupgrading project of Jihua.

Currently, pile foundation construction isunderway in the western region, and it is planned that by March next year, morethan 60% of the pile foundation and underground water supply and drainagepipelines and other works will be completed, creating conditions for the nextoverall civil and steel structure construction, which is expected to becompleted in 2024.

The western region construction project isthe downstream product of ethylene, and also the production raw material ofJilin Chemical Fiber related products, which can be put into production aheadof schedule after the completion of the project. By then, Jilin Petrochemical'sadvantageous chemical products ABS, acrylonitrile and methyl ester productioncapacity can achieve domestic leadership, especially the annual productioncapacity of ABS will reach 1.8 million tons, accounting for about 60% of thedomestic market share, ranking first in the country. In addition, JilinPetrochemical will also add new products suitable for automotive, medical,food, alloy modification and other application fields, so that the productstructure will be optimized and the competitive advantage in the market will beenhanced.

By the end of September, the basic designof 16 bids with 1.2 million tons/year ethylene plant as the core was fullylaunched, the procurement of 29 technical process packages was completed, theoverall design was approved, the procurement of long-cycle equipment has beenstarted, and the overall project is progressing smoothly.
