Production capacity of 3 million tons! The world's largest single-plant coal-to-olefins project was approved
On the evening of November 24, Baofeng Energy issued the "Announcement on the Environmental Impact Assessment Approval of the 3 Million Tons/Year Olefin Project in Inner Mongolia". According to the announcement, on November 23, 2022, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China issued the "Reply on the Environmental Impact Report of the Phase I 2.6 Million Tons/Year Coal-to-Olefin and 400,000 Tons/Year Implanted Green Hydrogen Coupling Olefin Project of Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-based New Materials Co., Ltd.", marking the official approval of the project.
The project is located in Tuke Industrial Park, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, using the collaborative production process of green hydrogen and modern coal chemical industry, with a total olefin production capacity of 3 million tons per year, which is the world's largest single plant to olefin, and the only large-scale project in the world to replace fossil energy with green hydrogen to produce olefins.
The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 18 months, when Baofeng Energy's olefin production capacity will be greatly increased to 5.2 million tons per year.
