China imported 900,000 tons of ethylene glycol in May 2020, an increase of 4.2%

The latest data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in May 2020, China imported 900,000 tons of ethylene glycol, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year; an increase of 10,000 tons from the previous month, an increase of 1.1%. From January to May, China imported 4.59 million tons of ethylene glycol, an increase of 4.1% year-on-year.

In May, the import value of ethylene glycol reached US$370 million, a year-on-year decrease of 26.9%. From January to May, the import value of ethylene glycol was 2.261 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 18.2%.

Based on this calculation, in May 2020, the average import price of ethylene glycol in China was US$410.83/ton, a decrease of US$37.26/ton from the average import price in April, a decrease of 8.32%; the average import price of ethylene glycol from January to May was 492.69 USD/ton.
