From Manchester to Geneva: HMG Paint Coats Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTE
The 88th Geneva International Motor Show saw the showcase of the newly launched Aston Martin Racing (AMR) Vantage GTE which boasts an eye catching green livery. AMR technical partner HMG Paints Ltd. produced the vibrant coating and spray painted the show car ahead of Geneva, ready for its motor show debut.
The much-anticipated new design and stunning new livery were unveiled last November in London alongside Aston Martin’s next generation road car around which the Vantage GTE was developed.
At the Manchester Headquarters, HMG’s experienced technical applicators, Tony O’Connor and Steve Kennedy, prepared and spray painted the car ready for the show which commenced on March 6. With market leading pigment technology, HMG Paints’ Advanced Colour Design team have produced the striking new accent colour created by the Prodrive-run Aston Martin Racing team.
“The new GTE lime green is a modern next step to the excellent Stirling Green shade from 2016,” said Steve Kennedy, HMG Paints Advanced Color Design Manager. “I am proud to have been part of the new seasons development. Using the latest pigments and colour trends in the automotive industry, we have been able to create the desired colour in our Acrythane 4G system, which is ideally suited for a high-performance motorsport environment, which won’t be missed on the track.”
“Our 2018 GTE car looks stunning in its new green livery and thanks to HMG’s quick delivery we were able to prepare the car to a tight deadline. We have been working with HMG for many years now as the paint and coatings supplier for our cars and they have consistently delivered an excellent service.” Added Andrew Williamson, Prodrive Motorsport operations manager.
Working closely with clients such as Aston Martin Racing and Prodrive, HMG’s Advanced Colour Design team offers customers the chance to match or design their own shades, using sparkled, fluorescent or metallic pigment technology to create their own unique colours. HMG’s customers have unrivalled access to the newest pigment technologies in the marketproducing the most unique, high specification finishes.
After their success at Le Mans 24 Hours in 2017, Aston Martin Racing (AMR) aim to defend their crown. Thisyear’s Le Mans 24 Hours will be held June 16-17, 2018.
