The United States may become the largest LNG exporter this year
Recently, Reuters quoted market analyst data to show that if the suspended liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Texas resumes operation, the United States is expected to become the world's largest LNG exporter this year.
Analysts said that last year, the daily LNG export volume of the United States reached 10.6 billion cubic feet, up 8% year on year, slightly lower than Australia's 10.7 billion cubic feet. Qatar ranks third with a daily export volume of 10.5 billion cubic feet. Analysts pointed out that by 2026 in Australia and 2025 in Qatar, no new LNG plants will be put into operation. It is expected that the LNG production of the two countries this year will be basically the same as that of last year.
Analysts said that at present, the price of LNG in Europe is about US $22 per million British thermal units, while that in the US market is only US $4. In contrast, the price in the Asian market is relatively high, about US $29. Analysts expect that the US LNG export to Asia will increase this year due to the high price stimulus in Asia.
