FDA Announces Flexibility on New Food Nutrition and Supplement Labeling Regulati

2020-09-28

On September 18, 2020, FDA announced additional flexibility measures for manufacturers who need to comply with updated labeling requirements for nutrition and supplements by January 1, 2021. For manufacturers with less than $10 million in annual food sales, while the compliance date will remain in effect, FDA will not focus enforcement actions on these smaller food manufacturers during 2021. In addition, given that manufacturers may need more time to meet requirements during the new coronary period, the FDA is offering the same flexibility measures to companies with $10 million or more in annual sales that need to comply with nutrition and supplement labeling requirements by January 1, 2020.
