EU: Five-year anti-dumping tariffs on China's polyvinyl alcohol
According to Bloomberg on the 29th, Japanese company Kuraray Co. The German subsidiary won the complaint, and the EU will impose a five-year tariff on polyvinyl alcohol imported from China. The EU's anti-dumping tariff rate is between 17.3% and 72.9%, which varies according to different Chinese export companies. The tariff will take effect from Wednesday (September 30).
In July 2019, the European Commission issued an announcement stating that in response to an application made in June 2019 by Kuraray Europe GmbH on behalf of a producer of polyvinyl alcohol that accounts for more than 60% of the output of similar products in the EU, the European Commission will Vinyl alcohol conducts anti-dumping investigation. Polyvinyl alcohol is used in various industries such as construction and papermaking.
