European Coatings Show rescheduled for September 2021

The European Coatings Show (ECS), the leading trade show for the international coatings industry, has been postponed.

 

Instead of holding ECS 2021 in March next year as planned, ECS organisers Vincentz Network and NürnbergMesse have rescheduled it for September 14-16, 2021, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and associated travel restrictions.

 

After close consultation with exhibitors and industry representatives, Vincentz Network and NürnbergMesse have decided to postpone ECS 2021 to spring to autumn.

 

The world's leading exhibition for the coatings industry will take place in Nuremberg from 14 to 16 September 2021, with the partially overlapping European Coatings Conference scheduled for 13 to 14 September.

 

"Even though a specially developed hygiene plan enables us to securely anchor ECS to the fairgrounds in the spring, we need to look at each exhibition individually," says Alexander Mattausch, Exhibition Director at Messe Nuremberg. " The ECS is a global industry gathering. For the last edition in 2019, exhibitors and trade visitors came to Nuremberg from more than 120 countries to develop and expand their international business relationships. These relationships are vital to the coatings industry, which is characterized by global supply chains and large, global network companies. Unfortunately, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the possibility of associated travel restrictions will continue to mean that we will not be able to reach this ECS target that we had hoped to achieve in March."

Until recently, everything pointed to the possibility of a successful European Coatings Show and a partially overlapping European Coatings Conference in March 2021," added Amanda Beyer, Head of Event Management Vincentz Network. "However, the current pandemic situation has worsened and as organisers we must be true to our responsibilities and listen to the sentiments of the coatings industry that strongly suggest a postponement. The leading coatings industry trade fair draws its energy especially from meetings between people from all over the world, which is why we are delighted to have found the ideal choice for our exhibitors and visitors so quickly this autumn, and we look forward to welcoming them to Nuremberg next September."
