Stahl Reopens Ranipet Plant
Stahl, a global leader in specialty coatings for flexible materials, announced the reopening of its state-of-the-art coatings plant in Ranipet. The reopening underscores Stahl's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer collaboration through locally produced, high-performance specialty coatings.
The Ranipet plant was originally inaugurated in April 2000 and operated until its closure in 2019. Following Stahl's recent divestiture of its wet-end business, the plant has officially reopened and is refocusing on leather finishing, performance coatings, and packaging coatings.
The upgraded facility combines coatings formulation production, R&D, application laboratories, and testing capabilities under one roof. This integrated facility enhances collaboration, accelerates innovation, and enables Stahl to co-create advanced solutions with partners.
This enables the company to quickly respond to evolving market demands and scale operations in response to growing demand, driving innovation in the region. Stahl also plans to continue strengthening its manufacturing, R&D, and application capabilities at the Ranipet plant as market opportunities arise.
Maarten Heijbroek, CEO of Stahl, said: "The reopening of the Ranipet plant is a significant milestone in Stahl's transformation journey. This investment reflects our strategic priorities and aligns our capabilities with future market demands. The ability to produce locally in India, a key growth market, strengthens our position and enables us to better provide our customers with innovative, tailored solutions."
"Ranipet has always been a special place for Stahl, and its reopening is both a homecoming and a new beginning," said Ranganath BV, Managing Director of Stahl India and Bangladesh. "Our dedicated professionals have the expertise and passion to drive the success of our customers in India and around the world. This modern, sustainable plant strengthens our ability to serve our local customers while also contributing to Stahl's global innovation journey."
