Qatar will become the world's largest LNG exporter in the next ten years
According to the Gulf Times website, October 12, according to the Arab Petroleum Investment Corporation (Apicorp), Qatar is expected to maintain its title of the world's largest LNG exporter in the next ten years.
Apicorp stated in its latest report "Natural Gas and Petrochemical Investment Outlook for 2020-24" that it is expected that the final investment decision for the Northern Oilfield Expansion (NFE) large-scale project (estimated to be worth US$50 billion) will soon advance to 2021.
At present, Qatar Petroleum Corporation (QP) is the world's largest LNG equity holder, with 63%-70% equity in the Qatar gas joint project (52.5 million tons/year of equity rated capacity).
In the past ten years (2009-19), Australia’s new LNG production capacity totaled about 88 million tons/year, followed by a wave of new LNG production lines in the United States from 2015 to 2019. The rich associated gas of shale oil made it At the end of 2019, it increased its export capacity by more than 45 million tons per year.
"Qatar is facing increasingly fierce competition in the global LNG market it undisputedly dominates," the company said.
