Demand for gum arabic is soaring, giant plans to increase production capacity
Alland & Robert, a French natural gum company, announced that the demand for gum arabic has skyrocketed due to the epidemic driving fast-moving consumer goods consumption. To this end, the company plans to invest 11 million euros to increase the annual production capacity of the Normandy plant by 9,000 tons, and the total production capacity will reach 30,000 tons per year.
It is reported that the company's Saint-Aubin-sur-Guillon base in Normandy will add a fourth production line, covering an area of 8,000 square meters. The capacity expansion plan is expected to be launched next year and is scheduled to be put into use at the end of 2022.
The company said that the reason for increasing its production capacity by 45% was mainly to meet the skyrocketing demand for the food ingredients in the global market.
