Covestro announced the expansion of production capacity!
On March 9, Covestro announced on its official website the expansion of polycarbonate film production capacity in Thailand to meet the growing demand in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.
The company has begun construction of a new extrusion line at the Map Ta Phut industrial park in Thailand. The films are mainly used in identity documents, automotive display screens, and electrical and electronics. With an investment of more than 10 million euros, the project is scheduled to be completed by 2025 and will create around 50 new jobs.
"With this investment, we are strengthening our Solutions and specialty products division and are committed to further expanding our growing business," said Sucheta Govil, Chief Commercial Officer of Covestro. At the same time, we are responding to growing demand and supporting future expansion of technologies and industries."
"We want to drive the growth of the polycarbonate film business with innovation and a strong focus on our customers," said Aleta Richards, global head of Covestro's Specialty Film division. In doing so, we aim to strengthen our cooperation with customers in the Asia Pacific region and expand our product portfolio in the circular economy."
