Neste expands renewable fuel production in Singapore

ECHEMI 2023-04-21

Recently, Neste, a Finnish renewable fuel producer, said that the company plans to expand the annual production of renewable fuels at its Singapore plant to 1.3 million tons starting in May, which will increase Neste's annual production capacity of sustainable aviation fuel. The maximum increase is 1 million tons. The current annual production capacity of the company's Rotterdam plant in the Netherlands is only 500,000 tons.

In addition, Neste's annual biofuel production capacity will increase from the current 3.3 million tons to 5.5 million tons by the end of this year by expanding production at its Singapore plant and a new joint venture with Marathon Oil in California.

Neste produces renewable fuel primarily from waste cooking oil and tallow. The company owns many world-renowned brands such as engine lubricants, industrial lubricants, and automotive chemicals. The company is also developing new fuel sources, including a fuel test project using algae in Spain.
