Ecuador has exported more than 11 tons of kirin fruit to China in the past two weeks
Ecuador has exported 4,573 boxes of pitahaya (also known as "yellow dragon fruit") in 17 batches with a total weight of 11,432.50 kg to China in the past two weeks, the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (MAG) announced.
Ecuadorean website expreso reported on April 22 that the first shipment of Ecuadorean euteca fruit to China was completed on April 10. Ecuador has 7 export companies, 6 collection centers and 8 production bases exporting euekirin fruit to China, subject to compliance with plant quarantine requirements and export agreements.
On April 18, representatives of Chinese importers and officials of the Ecuadorian Embassy in China held a launch ceremony of Ecuadorian Euekirin fruit at Xinfadi Wholesale Market in Beijing, in order to expand the popularity of Euekirin fruit in the Chinese market and make more Chinese consumers know and love Euekirin fruit.
In the two weeks since the first shipment, Ecuador has exported 17 batches of the fruit, totaling 11,432.50 kilograms, to China, according to data released by Ecuador's Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.
Ecuador has achieved positive results in the field of fruit exports. According to data released by the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), in January and February this year, fruit exports reached 49.6 million US dollars, an increase of 92.5% compared to the same period last year. Fruit exports increased 48.7 per cent from the same period last year.
