FMC:Provilar is introduced in Brazil to combat leaf spot and mucormycosis

2023-06-28

At Hortitec, the most important horticultural (HF) trade fair in Latin America, the company recently launched Provilar, a biocide formulated from the strains of Bacillus Bellescens RTI301 and Bacillus subtilis RTI477.

Provilar is an environmentally friendly solution to help combat leaf spot and white mildew, and its liquid formulation contains bacterial endospores and their metabolites for the prevention and lasting management of leaf diseases.

Provilar, when used in combination with chemical pesticides, will improve the efficiency of chemical control, because the bacilli in the product help plants produce defensive compounds, such as phytoantitoxins, the company said. The plant's natural defenses, activated by non-pathogenic microorganisms such as beneficial bacteria, will increase the plant's resistance to systemic and persistent diseases.

In addition, the company also introduced Premio Star insecticide (Chlorantraniliprole), which can control 50 pests in more than 50 crops.

FMC also participated in a seminar on MIP Experience organized by Promip. Luis Grandeza, Crop Manager at Formica, stresses: "Hotitec is one of the biggest events in horticulture and a great opportunity to present our solutions to farmers. It is an honor to be part of this effort to provide growers with new technologies in food traceability, sustainability and productivity."
