Argentina will recognize the results of isotropic certification of pesticide active ingredients in some countries

2024-07-01

SENASA has introduced a new resolution 694/2024 that will recognize the results of isocertification of chemical or biological active ingredients in plant protection products (pesticides) in third countries.

As part of a broader plan to deregulate and streamline the process, the resolution is a first step in recognizing the same gender certification of active ingredients for pesticides by major health and plant protection authorities in the United States, Mexico, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. The resolution simplifies the process and reduces approval time by setting a standard for equivalence of active ingredients, i.e. active ingredients at the same or higher levels as those in the above-mentioned approved countries.

In this case, the active ingredient to be registered will be considered as ingredient equivalent if it comes from the same manufacturing enterprise and has the same or higher minimum content as registered in the above-mentioned countries.
