Nichino America signs cross-licensing agreement with Sipcam Agro to expand US market share of Buprofezin
Nichino and Sipcam Agro have announced a cross-licensing agreement to jointly enhance their crop protection offerings in the United States.
Under the terms of the partnership, Sipcam Agro granted Nichino the exclusive right to distribute its Eject® biocide in California. This strategic alliance gives Nichino access to highly effective downy mildew fungicides that can be used on a variety of major vegetable crops, strengthening Nichino's product portfolio.
In exchange, Nichino will provide Sipcam Agro with early access to the Buprofezin 70 DF/WDG insect growth regulator formulation (Odeza™, Sussex™). These formulations can effectively and sustainably control the nymph and creeping stages of some pests. This symbiotic partnership will combine the strengths of both suppliers to provide more robust crop protection solutions for U.S. specialty crop growers.
Brent Marek, CEO and Chief operating Officer of Sipcam Agro, said: "This agreement not only demonstrates its commitment to improving agricultural productivity, but also demonstrates the profound impact of strategic partnerships in driving the industry forward.
Nichino America also welcomed the strategic significance of the agreement. Dustin Simmons, president of Nichino America, said: "This agreement is an important step in expanding the market share of Buprofezin in the United States, while the acquisition of Eject® enables it to provide farmers in California with a potent downy mildew control solution with a dual mode of action.”
