South Korea Issues Recall for Peanut Products Over High Aflatoxin Levels
In a recent development reported on October 31, the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has taken action concerning domestically produced fried peanut products distributed by a South Korean food company. The products were found to contain aflatoxin levels exceeding the established standards, leading to an immediate halt in sales and a recall of the affected items.

The product in question was found to have aflatoxin levels measuring 31.9 μg/kg (with B1 levels at 29.1 μg/kg). In South Korea, the permissible limit for aflatoxin in this category of product is 15.0 μg/kg or less (with a B1 threshold of 10.0 μg/kg).

The recall applies to products bearing a consumer expiration date of September 21, 2024, ensuring the safety and well-being of consumers.
