BASF Expands and Upgrades Coating Defoamer Unit at Turkish Plant
On November 22, BASF announced that it had completed the expansion and transformation of defoaming agent capacity at its Dilovasi plant in Turkey. The new production line increases the company's on-site production capacity to better meet the growing demand for high-performance Foamaster® and Foamstar® products in Southeast Europe, the Middle East and Africa. By significantly increasing production capacity, BASF will improve service to customers in the region and shorten lead times to ensure faster deliveries.
The new production line also helps BASF reduce emissions related to product transportation by significantly reducing distances.
The Dilovasi plant in Turkey plays an important role in BASF's additives business and is a key supply point for Dispex ® AA products, including defoamers. The recent expansion of the polyacrylic acid dispersant production line and the expansion of defoamer capacity further strengthen the site's position in BASF's additives business.
“The additional capacity in Dilovasi allows us to support the growth plans of our customers in the region and improve our service levels,” explains Joachim Burger, BASF's business director additives europe, middle east & africa.
Defoaming agents are crucial in the production of coatings and inks, as they not only prevent foaming but also the formation of defects. BASF's Foamaster® and Foamstar® products are known for their high performance in defoaming applications.
