Want to Order Weight-Loss Medicine Directly from the Manufacturer? Eli Lilly Launches a Convenient Solution
In response to the surging demand for weight-loss drugs, pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Co has unveiled LillyDirect, a user-friendly website that allows individuals to order medications directly from the company. This innovative service not only offers access to Eli Lilly's weight-loss medicine Zepbound but also connects individuals with obesity and other health conditions to telehealth companies.
The popularity of potent weight-loss drugs like Novo Nordisk's Wegovy has fueled significant interest in the obesity drug market, which is projected to reach a value of approximately $100 billion by the end of the decade. In light of this, other players in the weight management industry, such as WW International and Ro, have also launched telehealth services for these drugs.
Following the announcement of LillyDirect, shares of WW International (formerly known as WeightWatchers) experienced a sharp decline of over 10%, reflecting the potential impact of Eli Lilly's new website.
Apart from Zepbound, LillyDirect will offer services for patients with diabetes and migraine. The website's pharmacy page will feature various products, including the migraine drug Emgality, insulin, and similar medications, which can be conveniently delivered to patients' homes.
Eli Lilly's direct-to-consumer service aims to connect patients with independent telehealth providers who can support their existing healthcare team or serve as an alternative to in-person care for specific conditions. Additionally, the website will collaborate with third-party providers to offer comprehensive pharmacy services.
BMO Capital Markets analyst Evan Siegerman commended Lilly's proactive approach, stating that the direct-to-consumer model is particularly suitable for obesity medications. He believes that this move will drive the adoption of Zepbound by reducing barriers and facilitating new patient starts.
With Eli Lilly's new offering, ordering weight-loss medication directly from the manufacturer has never been easier. Experience the convenience of LillyDirect and take a step towards achieving your health goals.
