Addor Capital invests in Wanhua Electronics
On March 6, Addor Capital announced that it had recently completed its investment in Yantai Wanhua Electronic Materials Co., Ltd.
Wanhua Electronics is building a silane product production line with an annual output of 140 tons and is expected to be officially put into production in 2024. This move marks Wanhua Electronics' first entry into the field of electronic special gases, aiming to accelerate the localization of electronic special gases for semiconductors and meet the needs of the domestic semiconductor market.
Wanhua Electronics' core products include monosilane, disilane, etc. Among them, disilane is a key advanced material in related manufacturing processes such as advanced semiconductor process development and thin film deposition processes. It can greatly improve the success rate of semiconductor product development, significantly reduce R&D and production costs, and significantly shorten development time. The pilot purity of disilane produced by Wanhua Electronics exceeds 5N level, and the pilot purity of monosilane exceeds 7N level. Its performance indicators have reached the international advanced level.
The Addor Capital investment team stated that there is broad room for domestic substitution in the electronic specialty gas industry, and disilane is an indispensable core deposition material in high-end semiconductor manufacturing processes. Wanhua Electronics has now made breakthroughs in high-yield disilane preparation technology, which has the potential to significantly reduce costs. In addition, the company is developing other types of electronic special gas products, and is actively moving towards a platform enterprise that provides electronic special gas R&D, distribution, services and comprehensive solutions.
In July 2022, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Natural Resources jointly issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Raw Materials Industry", which requires focusing on key application areas such as integrated circuits, information communications, and energy industries, conquer a number of key materials such as special coatings, photoresists, industrial gases, catalysis, optical functions, and hydrogen storage materials. Under the background that national policies continue to favor the development of the electronic special gas industry, China's electronic special gas industry will have broad and bright development prospects.
