Merck Collaborates with AI Biotech in $1.4 Billion ADC Drug Development
In a groundbreaking collaboration, pharmaceutical giant Merck has joined forces with AI biotech company Caris Discovery to develop transformative ADC (Antibody-Drug Conjugate) therapies. CarisLifeSciences, a precision medicine company and a subsidiary of AI TechBio's Caris Discovery, utilizes molecular science and artificial intelligence (AI) to actively develop innovative solutions and fundamentally transform healthcare. Through comprehensive molecular analysis, including whole exome sequencing and transcriptome sequencing, coupled with advanced AI and machine learning algorithms, Caris has built large-scale, multimodal databases and computational capabilities necessary to analyze and unravel the molecular complexities of diseases.
ADC Development and CarisDiscovery's Approach:
CarisDiscovery leverages the scale of Caris' core molecular analysis business to discover novel drug targets that cannot be realized through traditional methods. By integrating their proprietary ADAPTBiotargeting platform, synchronized patient tissue repositories, sophisticated AI and machine learning capabilities, and a dedicated discovery research laboratory spanning 59,000 square feet, CarisDiscovery aims to identify and validate new therapeutic targets that can be utilized by its biopharmaceutical partners to develop next-generation cancer therapies.
