Wanhua Chemical Barcelona Cornellà R&D Center officially opens!
On April 24, Wanhua Chemical officially opened its R&D center in Cornellà, Barcelona, Spain. The research center can provide technical support and services in terms of product performance, application methods, and raw material selection for downstream customers of fine chemicals and materials.
Wanhua Chemical said the core business segment of the center is to customize solutions to meet customers' specific needs and challenges, promote the development and verification of new products, provide timely technical support to solve material quality issues, and keep up with technological advancements in the industry through research and innovation.
"At Wanhua Chemical, we have always regarded technological innovation as our core competitiveness. The opening of the Barcelona R&D center symbolizes our continued commitment to providing high-quality products and meeting customer needs. We are eager to cooperate with chemical industry players in an open spirit , jointly promote innovation and lead sustainable development," said Hua Weiqi, executive vice president of Wanhua Chemical.
Wanhua also said that the Barcelona R&D Center plays a key role in promoting sustainable development and also showcased the company's ongoing R&D activities, including green chemical technology, renewable energy utilization, circular economy and waste recycling, as well as sustainable products.
In addition to providing technical support and services to downstream customers of fine chemicals and materials, the center will also cooperate with leading research institutions and universities for innovative development, making full use of external scientific research resources and professional knowledge to drive innovation and enhance competitiveness. At the same time, it will serve as Wanhua Chemical's stronghold in Europe, attracting talents, especially from Spanish-speaking regions, to support the development of the Latin American market.
The Barcelona R&D Center is Wanhua Chemical’s second R&D center in Europe. Its first European R&D center is located in Gödöllő, Hungary, focusing on polyurethanes. Wanhua said that the two centers have achieved complementary advantages in downstream industries, service areas, and coordinated development paths.
