Kuwait Petroleum subsidiary acquires 25% stake in China Wanhua Chemical Group
Kuwait Petrochemical Industries, a subsidiary of Kuwait's state-owned oil company, said on the 26th that it had signed an agreement to acquire a 25% stake in China Wanhua Chemical Group.
The company did not disclose the value of the transaction, but said it was Kuwait's largest investment in China's petrochemical industry.
Under the agreement, Kuwait Petrochemical Industries will acquire several industrial units of the group in Yantai, China, which specialize in the production of a variety of petrochemical products, including propylene oxide and acrylic acid.
The company said this will help diversify the Kuwaiti company's high-value product portfolio.
