Italian Ravioli and Chips Recalled Due to Safety Concerns

On June 5th, 2024, the Italian Ministry of Health issued emergency recall notices for two food products - an Italian ravioli brand and a potato chip brand.

The first product is Primia brand cheese and spinach ravioli. The ministry stated that this product, produced by the company Reggiana Gourme in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, has an incorrect best-before date printed on the packaging. The actual best-before date is July 1, 2024, not July 1, 2027 as indicated. Consumers who have purchased this 250g packaged ravioli, batch number 24123, are advised to return the product to the point of sale.

The second recalled item is Clover brand barbecue-flavored potato chips. These chips, imported and sold in Italy by Beagley Copperman, were found to contain an unlabeled gluten ingredient. The ministry is recalling all package sizes and best-before dates for this product.

The Italian health authorities are urging consumers to refrain from consuming either of these two products due to the identified safety issues. Customers are advised to return the recalled items to where they were purchased.

This incident serves as a reminder for food producers and importers to exercise extreme caution in accurately labeling their products to ensure consumer safety. The Italian government has acted quickly to remove these problematic items from the market.
