Import and Export Food Weekly Highlights (June 10-14) | Food Violations of the Japanese Food Sanitation Law (Updated on June 13, 2024) China's exported fresh ginger found with pesticide residues exceeding the standard
In the past week (June 10 to June 14), countries such as South Korea and Japan have announced various policy measures and violation information related to food import and export.
On the import and export policy front, Japan has announced that it has included two Chinese food companies in the "Saccharin Order Inspection Target" list; a company from Fujian, China has received recognition from the US FDA for its exported products; South Korea has once again listed Chinese-produced soaked tea and bread products as import order inspection targets; Vietnamese instant noodles have been removed from the EU food safety control list; and Turkey has lifted several import restrictions on livestock products from Kazakhstan.
In the area of export violations, fresh ginger and chili sauce exported from China were respectively detected with pesticide residues exceeding the standard and with Bacillus cereus exceeding the standard in the EU. The Food Partner Network solemnly reminds all export companies to strictly carry out product export activities according to the requirements of the importing countries, ensure the safety and compliance of products, and effectively avoid export risks.
In summary, various countries are continuously strengthening their supervision and management of food imports and exports. Enterprises need to pay high attention to product quality and safety issues, and effectively fulfill their principal responsibilities for exported foods, in order to ensure the stable development of food trade.
