Ekkio Capital Launches Sweetch to Accelerate the Natural Ingredient Revolution in Beauty
Ekkio Capital has launched Sweetch, a beauty ingredient supplier focused on natural and sustainable materials. The new company combines the businesses of Gobiotics, Creathes and CreaChem.
The launch comes at a time of significant growth in clean and sustainable ingredient technology.
Sweetch’s portfolio focuses on botanical and biotech natural ingredients, upcycled raw materials, functional and active ingredients for the microbiome, and low-energy formulations.
Tony Jaillot, CEO of Sweetch, said: "Consumers' desire for beauty brands based on natural ingredients is now unstoppable and is shaping the present and future of the industry. While there are many excellent renewable ingredients on the market, we believe there is a novel way to combine them into differentiated concepts while bringing new technologies to life, from untapped food technologies to biotech and even other industries. We are excited to partner with the visionary team at Ekkio Capital and build a new disruptive player in the beauty ingredients space!"
"Ekkio Capital is delighted to have Sweetch join its portfolio," said Thibaud Gachet, Partner at Ekkio Capital. “They have a strong strategy to drive growth and offer the beauty industry novel ingredients that will scale rapidly.”
“Back in 2002, Gobiotics’ mission was to develop ingredients that support the skin through the skin microbiome and to develop sustainable alternatives to synthetic classic functional ingredients,” said Dorota Gonry, CEO of GoBiotics Ingredients. “Becoming part of Sweetch will expand our R&D resources, production capabilities and customer service levels. More and more iconic ingredients are on the horizon.”
Hervé Huillier, founder of Creathes, who will become COO of the Sweetch Group, added: “Our fundamental principle is: ‘Creating Solutions’. It is on this basis that we use natural delivery systems to offer solutions that support consumer health. Today, with our expertise in natural delivery systems, our goal is to bring efficacy to natural cosmetics by combining well-being, innovation, health and sustainability. Sweetch shares our values and will help us achieve this by supporting our R&D, deploying our industrial tools and developing our sales. History is no longer behind us, but in front of us.”
Karl Booten, CEO of CreaChem, said: “ The acquisition by Sweetch will create many synergies with other partners and lead to many successes. I look forward to seeing these wonderful developments.”
