Johnson & Johnson Reports Strong H1 2024 Results, Revenue Reaches $43.8 Billion
Johnson & Johnson, the world's leading healthcare company, recently released its financial results for the first half of 2024, demonstrating its solid growth in a complex healthcare market environment. According to the financial report, Johnson & Johnson's revenue in the second quarter of 2024 reached $22.45 billion, an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period last year, while the total revenue in the first half of the year was $43.83 billion, an increase of 3.3%, showing the steady development of the company's business.
Among the business segments, J&J's pharmaceutical business is particularly strong. In the second quarter, the pharmaceutical business generated $14.49 billion in revenue, an increase of 5.5% over the same period last year. In the first half, the figure climbed to $28.05 billion, up 3.3 percent from a year earlier. Among them, Johnson & Johnson's oncology business became a bright spot of growth, revenue in the second quarter reached $5.09 billion, an increase of 15.7%, surpassing the immunology business to become the company's largest revenue contribution area. This growth was primarily driven by the company's deep presence and continued innovation in oncology therapeutics.
Johnson & Johnson has a strong product portfolio in multiple segments of tumor therapy, especially in the treatment of multiple myeloma, the company has five key products including proteasome inhibitors, CD38 monoclonal antibody, BCMACAR-T, etc., covering a comprehensive treatment program from early to late stage. In addition, Johnson & Johnson has also demonstrated strong research and development strength in the field of prostate cancer, and there are a number of innovative pre-clinical drugs under development, which is expected to bring more treatment options to patients.
Johnson & Johnson's financial results fully reflect the company's leading position in the global pharmaceutical market. Looking ahead to the full year, J&J expects revenue to reach $89.4 billion in 2024, up 6.4% from the previous year.
