Honeywell and Repsol Collaborate on Biofuels
Honeywell is working with Spanish energy and petrochemical group Repsol to create new production pathways for biofuels and circular materials. The two companies will also explore the possibility of integrating these approaches into Repsol's existing facilities.
The partners plan to scale up and commercialize Honeywell's technology, which produces chemicals and renewable fuels at Repsol's refineries from a variety of wastes, including fats, oils, greases, biomass and solids. Their goal is to produce different biofuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel, while leveraging existing refinery assets.
Honeywell said the collaboration helps align its product portfolio with the energy transition megatrend.
"As a global leader in sustainable fuel technologies, we seek collaborations to deliver innovative solutions that help our customers and stakeholders reduce carbon and greenhouse gas emissions through biofuel production," said Bryan Glover, Honeywell's Chief Growth Officer and Chief Technology Officer.
